Muthuaini AA - Kenya, Tanat | 200g

Tasting note: Gooseberry - Mango - Pear
Grown on the highlands of Nyeri, this Muthuaini AA comes from small farms gathered within the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society, an organization that resembles several small producers in the region. The Muthuaini station is part of the various production units of the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society. Each coffee grower works on a small plot and brings his cherries to the station after harvest, where they are sorted and then pulped before undergoing a careful washing process. Drying is then done on raised African beds, with regular sorting in order to obtain a clean and homogeneous coffee. Our lot is composed of the SL28 and SL34 varieties, emblematic of Kenyan cafes and supported by the Batian and the Ruiru 11. These grains are here processed in a washed method to preserve all the sharpness of the cherries.
In a cup, the Muthuaini AA plays on a very fruity and gourmet register. Mango first brings a tropical, ripe and juicy expression, before the pear brings a more delicate sweetness and a melting texture. The gooseberry, finally, awakens this sweetness with a fruity and frank acidity. The exotic fruit gives breadth, the pear brings sweetness and the gooseberry stretches the tasting. An expressive and balanced cup with the characteristic freshness of Kenyan coffees.
